A gray distribution box is mounted on a white wall. The yellow triangle on its door, and the lightning bolt inside it, give off the sharpest color in this passageway. The cable comes out of the socket beneath the box, hangs down to the floor, and then draws one large circle over the green paint. Two white cars are parked rear-in, and the underground lighting glints only on the curved surfaces of their bodies.
At a gas station, a person stands holding the nozzle. Here, no one is standing. The car stays overnight, and the cable holds the wall and the car together for hours on end.
Because of one property alone, that charging goes on for a long time, the parking garage changes its character from a space that uses electricity to a facility that holds electricity. The building's wiring is absorbed into the road as an extension of it.
Look again at the right edge. What juts out toward the camera further than the cars is an air conditioning outdoor unit. The fan blades are turned to face front, and near the ceiling above them, black and yellow diagonal stripes are drawn.
A machine that expels heat and a car that gives off heat while taking in electricity share the same narrow corridor. Underground parking garages were never designed to carry both of these at once.
The circle the cable draws is loose. The length left over is barely enough for one more car. When the next car comes in, that circle will straighten out, and from the car after that, one more box on the wall will be needed.
