On the 12th, the Chungcheongnam-do Agricultural Technology Center announced that it held a ‘Training for Mindfulness-Based Healing Agriculture Specialists’ at the healing agriculture center in the province. About 30 participants, including mental health professionals and care service providers, took part in this training.

The program consisted of ▲walking in nature ▲forest meditation and breathing ▲planting aromatic plants. Participants experienced the restorative functions of nature, promoting mental stability beyond simple leisure activities. The province expects this will be effective in preventing burnout among care personnel and enhancing psychological resilience in the long term.

Healing agriculture is an activity that enhances physical and mental health by utilizing agricultural resources and the natural environment, and it is recently expanding to target the elderly, disabled, and those vulnerable in mental health. A Chungcheongnam-do official stated, “Healing agriculture is a new value of agriculture and a key resource connected to community welfare,” and added, “We will continue to develop various programs to protect the mental health of our residents.”

Chungnam-style healing agriculture is establishing itself as a place for mental recovery and inner healing beyond simple agricultural experiences. It is noteworthy whether the healing functions of agriculture can spread throughout the community and provide a ‘breath of recovery’ in daily life.
