This event, hosted by the Busan Traditional Arts Center, is an exhibition that brings together the works of holders of intangible cultural heritage and traditional craft artisans, with artists participating from Busan, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Ulsan, and other regions.
Works from various fields such as seal engraving, traditional painting, Buddhist painting, calligraphy, ceramics, and wood carving will be exhibited, and some small items will also be available for sale. Visitors can appreciate the aesthetics of traditional crafts while experiencing tradition closely in their daily lives. The opening ceremony will be held on September 19 at 2 PM, featuring a Gayageum Sanjo performance and a calligraphy performance that will enrich the exhibition atmosphere.
Crafts are the result of long hours of refinement and shaping by artisans' hands. The process of carving wood, firing clay, and layering colors on silk requires intense focus and care. The completed works embody not just simple forms and functions but also the lives and philosophies of the artists. Visitors naturally gain psychological stability and immersion while appreciating these works. It becomes an opportunity to slow down the pace of daily life and catch their breath.
Busan has developed a unique traditional culture through its history of openness and exchange as a port city. This art fair is a place that connects that flow to the present sensibility. It shows what significance the skills and arts of artisans hold in modern society and how they can connect to the lives of citizens.
